Our Curriculum

Nursery 1 to KG 2

Our Pre-School follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) programme from the UK.  The EYFS curriculum is rich and varied, reflecting the school’s mission, and is rooted in a culture of inquiry. This is particularly important for learners as it is during these early stages that they develop essential skills in reading, writing and number. Literacy and Numeracy are strong and often individualised with a multi-faceted approach in both areas. Learners are also supported at a variety of reading levels. The Foundation Stage covers seven areas of learning and development which are interconnected:

  • Communication and language development
  • Physical development
  • Personal, social and emotional development
  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding the world
  • Expressive art and design

For further information on the EYFS, please go to: www.gov.uk/early-years-foundation-stage

From Year 1 (age 5-6) to Year 6 (age 10-11)

From Year 1 to Year, our students follow the Cambridge Primary Curriculum.  The Cambridge curriculum focuses on the three core subjects of English, Mathematics and Science.  There is a clear framework for each subject in which teachers have the flexibility to adapt the curriculum to meet the needs of their students. Progress is measured by use of the Cambridge Progression Tests given each year from Year 3, and the externally marked Cambridge Checkpoint assessments at the end of Year 6 in English, Mathematics and Science.

We also take keen interest in subjects like French, History, Geography, Music, PE and Global Perspective. The curriculum promotes the development of international-mindedness and personal learning goals which are focused on:

  • Respect
  • Resilience
  • Thoughtfulness
  • Morality
  • Communication
  • Adaptability
  • Co-operation
  • Enquiry
