CURRICULUM

Golden Foundation School is accredited by the Cambridge Assessment International Education and registered with the National Schools Inspectorate Authority (NaSIA).

The Nursery School

The Early Years Foundation Stage follows that of the UK programme.

The early years of education is an important phase in the life of young pupils.  We admit children from the age of 2 years to five years. Children at this young age are vibrant, innately curious and very enthusiastic to learn new things and develop key competences in reading, writing and number concepts. We harness this zeal to explore and grow by encouraging them to ask questions, seek out answers, make connections and be confident in their approach

The Primary School

The academic programme in the Primary School builds on the very strong foundation laid by our Nursery School. At this stage, the academic structure follows the Cambridge Primary Curriculum from age 5 in the Reception Class through to age 11 when the complete Year 6The academic programme is rigorous, engaging and yet fun filled. Lessons incorporate a variety of interactive and multi-sensory activities, presentations, drama and role play. We develop our children to enhance their confidence in speaking, be attentive listeners, team players and be kind to others and appreciate the difference in others.

GFS pupils learn to be responsible for themselves and their learning and confident to ask for help when they need it. In addition, pupils engage in research and project work, which enables them to explore and discover new things, thus building and fostering a sense of responsibility, independence and confidence.

A strong foundation in key skills areas, especially in Literacy & Numeracy, is critical to their academic success later on in their education.  Specific attention given to developing strong reading and comprehension skills, with a concerted focus on phonics, spelling & vocabulary building. We guide our pupils to move beyond rote learning, towards full understanding of concepts and development of their verbal and non-verbal reasoning skills
